Rodney Perry
Coach Rodney Perry is a former assistant men's basketball coach at Kansas State University and a proud Fort Smith native. With over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience, Coach Perry has built an impressive resume including positions at Duquesne, Southwest Baptist, Western Illinois, Avila, Oral Roberts, UMKC, and Link Academy. His impact on the game extends to the highest level — 20+ of his former players have played or are currently playing in the NBA, including Christian Braun and Michael Porter Jr., members of the 2023 NBA Champion Denver Nuggets; Jordan Walsh, the Arkansas Razorback who became a 2024 NBA Champion with the Boston Celtics; Fort Smith's own Isaiah Joe, a 2025 NBA Champion with the Oklahoma City Thunder; and Trae Young, whose AAU development and recruitment Coach Perry played an integral part in. Driven by a passion for giving back to his hometown, Coach Perry founded ProElite Basketball Academy to bring championship-level training to Fort Smith and the wider region — including the many families who travel in from across Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. His mission is simple: provide young athletes with the same quality of coaching and development opportunities available in major cities. Through the Pro Elite Basketball Academy curriculum and a purpose-built facility, Coach Perry is investing in the community and the next generation of basketball talent. ProElite Basketball Academy operates out of an 11,400 sq ft facility that we own outright: a purpose-built basketball training center with a real gym floor and dedicated spaces designed specifically for basketball development. Our two-story facility includes a professional basketball court, film room for video analysis, recovery room for athlete wellness, classroom for basketball IQ sessions, computer lab for educational development, conference room for team meetings, concession stand, and parent lounge. We also partner with the private school next door for additional court access. When you train at ProElite, you're training in a facility that matches the quality of what you'd find at collegiate and professional levels.
